Ingredients - Potato and mushroom gratin

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 225g small white mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 190 ml (¾ cup) milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 450g small potatoes, peeled
  • 110 g (1 cup) grated Gruyere cheese

How to prepare - Potato and mushroom gratin

  1. Boil the potatoes for about 15-20 minutes. Halve it and then cut it into slices.
  2. Grease an oven tray with a tablespoon of butter.
  3. Melt another tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and cook for about 6 minutes, then remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Whisk eggs, milk, salt and pepper in a bowl. Add mushrooms, potatoes and cheese, stirring.
  5. Pour the mixture into the oven tray and cook for 35-40 minutes in the oven preheated to 190°C.
